Reporting Changes

International scholars are required to keep their immigration documents up-to-date. You must report changes in personal and/or academic information to an International Advisor within 10 days of the change.

Please see the below chart for information on how to request an updated DS-2019 and/or report new information.

Complete a full new Visiting Scholar Application/DS-2019 Request Form (must include all signatures from the department)

Note: This information must be approved before we can update your SEVIS record and issue a new DS-2019; you must not engage in new activities until they are approved.

Add Dependent (spouse/child)

  • Complete the visiting scholar section of a new Visiting Scholar Application/DS-2019 Request Form
  • Provide ISSS with a copy of each dependent’s passport photo page
  • Provide ISSS with each dependent's birth city
  • Provide Proof of Finances (dated within the last 6 months) to cover expenses for the remainder of your program, including for your new dependent(s)
