Immigration Documents
F-1/J-1 students should provide ISSS with their most updated immigration documents for both themselves and any F-2/J-2 dependents.
The current immigration documents ISSS has on file for you can be found in the Documents tab of your ISSS Portal.
To update your immigration documents, please log in to the ISSS Portal and submit a Passport Upload , Visa Upload , or I-94 Upload . If you have F-2/J-2 dependents, you must submit a Dependent Immigration Documents Upload for each dependent.
Common reasons for updating your immigration documents include:
- You have renewed your passport.
- You have renewed your visa.
- You have traveled and reentered the U.S. (a new I-94 is issued upon each arrival).
- Your F-2/J-2 dependents have arrived in the U.S.
Keep your Passport Valid
You should keep your passport valid while studying in the U.S. Make sure you know the expiration date and begin the renewal process at least six months before it expires. Contact the embassy or consulate of your home country in the U.S. for information on passport renewal processes.
Make sure you provide ISSS with a copy of your renewed passport by submitting a Passport Upload in the ISSS Portal.
